Catherine Cleo, some of my favorite pictures

Well today was Cates birthday, and i just need to say...WOW!! I cant believe its been two years. ( side note, for readers this is for Cate and me so a warning it will be long and sentimental)

I remember my pregnancy very vividly with Cate i was HUGE and always thirsty, but drinking water made me sooo sick i always ate ice. It became an obsession. A Sonic 44 ouncer PACKED with ice. Also my back hurt so bad, it was intence pain that led me to sleep on the couch for the last 3 weeks of pregnancy. The last week of my pregnancy i decided that i could no longer care for Emma and I needed some help bad. So on Wendsday the 8th i called my mom and told her i needed her help, so she jumped in the car and arrived Thursday at 5pm. Now before i get into this i should mention a couple of things. I had begged my doctor to induce me because my back hurt so bad, he said no. He also told me that Cate would be about 8 lbs. And that the pains i was having werent contractions just my uterus perpairing for birth(? bad doctor)

When my mom arriveed those pains had gotten worse and the doc. was not calling me back so i was at a loss for what to do. My mom had the ingenuis idea to get a watch and time these wierd uterus pains and lo and belod they were 3 minutes apart. So needles to say we got in the car and went straight to the hospitol where Rich met us.

Now this should be the end of the story, i should have had the baby with no problem, but i think that maybe the doc likes people to have difficult stories.

The Doc. refused to come in even when i was completly dialated and efaced, because my water had not broken. So at 5am he finally emerged and broke my water. I had been ready all night, toatly dialated and very irratated. When he broke my water he made a comment like "wow that is one thick sack" gross and irratating.

3 or 4 pushes later Cate emerged and was a hefty 9 lbs 11ounces, 21 inches. No where near 8 lbs. She was atleast 2 weeks overdue, she was peeling and looked like she had been in a bath too long, her nails were long and needed to be cut.

BUT... she was the most beautiful baby ever. She had a face like an angel and was sooo sweet. I just wanted to hold her and love her forever.
The pediatrician made the comment that i gave birth to a one month old, she was holding her head up and looking around. ( i now know she was looking for something to get into and cause some mischief)

We brought her home on friday early afternoon. Emma wanted to hold her all the time and gave her kisses all day long (well she still gives her kisses)
Cate continuest to lighten my life every day. She is definetly not the angel i brought home but teh entertainment theat she gives is worth the switch. She is mischievious and funny and adventurous.

These days Cate llikes to do alot of fun things..
climb on anything
watch movies
play at the park and YMCA
swim ( i have to watch her because she will jump iin without me)
play with hter babies ( she is very passionate about her babies)
she loves parker and wants to be with him alwaya
jump on the bed
play in makeup
brush her teeth( she is constantly asking to brush her teeth, and she looses her toothbrush alot)
she loves to play hide and seek, even if you dotn know that your playing
she wears mine and Richard shoes around
loves jewelry (especialy necklaces)
loves Elmo computer games
LOVES to take a bath its her most favortite thing ot do.
loves to give hugs and kisses, especialy to Emma

i cant believe that my baby Cate is now 2. All i feel when i think of her is JOY and LOVE. (and a little exhaustion:)
She no doubt makes our family so much better, i wish everyone could have a Cate to hold and love, i think that she could erase all the sadness in the world.

Cate we love you!!

Oh, what fun that will be.

Cate's a star
she'll go far.
So don't leave the car key
in a place she can be.

Cate's a blessing
in spite of the messing.
We will begin act three
when she comes down from that tree.

Happy 2-day,
