Happy Birthday Emma!

Today is Emma's birthday. WOW! I cont believe she turned four today. It really takes my breath away. I remember when i was pregnant with her. We lived in Fresno and i worked for Gottschaks and rich worked for Gaurdian. The only things i wanted to eat were, Italian subs from quiznos, and Chevys tex mex. I wasn't really sick, but i did have some morning sickness for some of the first trimester. I didn't really start to show until i was well into my 5th month, but then i got huge! My due date was actually the 29th of May, but she wasnt anywhere near ready to come out, so i was induced. The induction itself took forever. My mom flew in on thursday afternoon, we went to chevys, then to the hospital. I had to be given some medicine overnight and then the pitocin the next morning. We had alot of fun at the hospital playing games and watching TV. The next morning the doc came in and broke my water and gave me pitocin. I didn't have Emma till 3am on Saturday morning. We left Monday morning. It was a long stretch of time. But well worth it. She weighed 8lbs 8oz. and was 21inches long. She was beautiful! The first thing the doctor said was "look at that chin" And i still get comments about her chin and her eyes. She continued to be a perfect baby, sleeping alot and eating well. She didn't nurse but was healthy just the same. She crawled at 8 months walked at 10 1/2 months. She said her first word at 1, HI! Then she stopped talking until she turned two. Now i cant get her to stop talking. She always loved to dance and sing. She first dances to Will Smiths, Gettin' giggy with it! SH e has not stopped dancing or singing since. This may be boring to most of you, but im mostly doing it for Emma. Emma we love you more every day!

Hooray! for days off!
I hope everybody had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! We had a wonderful time doing pretty much nothing. It was a very relaxing weekend filled with just us. We got alot of cleaning done, thanks to my clean husband! Emma and Daddy painted and put together a race car they got at Lowe's. Emma loves it and so does Cate. Some new news is that we finally got a new air conditioner. For those of you who have ever stayed here you know what a wonderful thing that is. The girls loved watching the big crane. Cate's new favorite game is to spin around in circles until she falls, then she laughs hysterically, and so do i! Emma continues asserting her independence from us, while at the same time being completely attached to me, figure that one out. Tomorrow is Emma's last day of preschool, its going to be very sad next week, when she wants to go. We are trying to figure a way to send her to real preschool in the fall. Cate still doesn't talk much but she definitely gets her wants and needs met. I have no problem understanding her. She mostly points, nods and screams, or just gets it herself. That last one is the part that scares me. Here are some fun recent pictures of my great family!

Its an alein...I mean Boy!

Today me and richard went to get our first ultra sound. And it way better quality then any other ultra sound we have ever had. My doctor is in a large "group" and seems to have top of the line stuff. Unfortunately her group is so large it gets a Little frustrating trying to get around her office. Her group takes up a whole floor of the hospital, and everything is in its own "office". Anyway Its been different since our last doctors were in small offices by themselves. I'm not sure yet which way is better. Anyway, me and rich are really excited to add a boy to our pink house. I will have to start buying blue stuff and alot of it to keep him sane as he grows up because he is competing with two pink wearing, princess wannabes! At least we know rich will have at least one boy to run away with when all us girls start getting hormonally unbalanced. We haven't chosen a name yet, but we are bouncing around two right now. When we decide i will let everyone know. Any way these pictures are kinda fussy, but they will have to work. The first one is a side view showing his head, back and bum. The next one is the pee-pee view. I don't know if you will be able to see it, but there is a Little arrow pointing to the winky(as rich refereed to it at the ultrasound). Its poking out pretty far, rich is a proud papa!

A mover and a shaker!

Im copying this blog from Emily> Thank you Emily. I thought that Mia's favorite things were so cute i wanted to do the same for Cate. So here they are in no particular order. Cate loves to do most anything that involves running, climbing, eating, dancing, and anything else her sister has in mind. Her favorite foods are: refried beans, chips, cereal in a bag, candy, steak, chicken. SO Far we have not really encountered a food that Cate dislikes. Last month she ate a dead snail that smelled really bad, gravel and dirt, ( i really am a good mom, but she is a quick thing) all in the space of about an hour. When i offered her cheesecake later that day she spit it back at me! That is the only time she has dislike something. When she was about 8 months she found an earwig, and went to town on that. Yummy! I have started calling her my SBD. Silent but deadly, not because she is gassy, but because she doesn't make alot of noise but destroys my house quickly and efficiently. I dont know how i ended up with two cuddlers, but i did. And they are sure CUTE!

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers Day to all those moms out there. I had a fantastic mommy's day. I slept till 8 in the morning, it was really nice. I was then awoken to breakfast in bed. How Nice! The food was yummy and i didn't have to make it! I couldn't be a luckier mom. I have two wonderful children to make my day fun and full of surprises and i have a husband who spoils me rotten. Mothers day is not the only day i get spoiled Richard spoils me all year. The other pictures are of Emma wearing her new outfit that grandma Thurston bought and me and her making cookies for dads office. There are no pictures of Cate, not because i don't try, but she never stops moving so all my pictures end up blurry! She is still doing amazing and makes my day go by so fast with all her monkeying around.

Fun with popsicles

Today we had a yummy snack of superman Popsicles, provided by our neighbour who works for dreyers. Emma had her friend Elise over to play and as always had a ton of fun. Cate has learned a new trick, she is a climber, on everything, the table, the sinks, the desks. You name it she climbs to the top.

DANGER!! YOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE TWIGHLIGHT ZONE!! BE AFRAID BE VERY AFRAID

Most everyone that reads this blog knows my husband, you are a good friend or relative. you think you know him....but you would be wrong. I'm not sure i even know him. Who are you and what have you done to the man i married? You may be confused, you don't understand what i mean. Well that is why i have taken photographic evidence to support my terror. Exhibit A is a picture of Richards new gun....did i just say gun. why yes i did. Oh and don't over look the hats. Is that camo you might be thinking, yes it is. Now exhibit B, what is that you may ask, Hello! don't you know that's a potato gun...you don't ....i thought everyone had a potato gun! I would like to conclude by stating that he tricked me into marrying him! yes i said it he tricked me. He wore nice clothes, never a hat, never said anything about guns, and wanted to work in a nice office and wear a suite, just like his dad. On Saturday we will have been married 6 years and a lot has changed. He goes shooting with "the boys" on Saturday, wears jeans and t-shirts to work, did i mention he works with manure! He also has taught my two beautiful girls that when they pass gas they should look around for the elephant that just ran by! I of course told only the truth when i was dating him, i don't pass gas, i will always be a size 8 and i LOVE to clean and do laundry. Oh well. i guess i can handle a little change in him. Its a good thing one of us will never change!
